What Should I Do?

Post by Jeff »

I have a good idea for a great forum/site...but I need vBulletin.

You're all going "just used your cracked one!" but Zacko reported it and now Jelsoft and my host are watching me (I nearly faced a $10,000 fine).

So should I give up the plan? I can't afford to pay $180 US.

If you wanna help, you all know my paypal, send this link to everyone.

What's wrong with phpbb? Or does your server only run Windows and ASPX?

If you don't need a forum right away, wait for phpbb 3 to come out. It has many of the features of vbulletin.

If you *really* need a forum now, just install phpbb 2.0.9. You can upgrade later.

If you really have to have vBulletin (Why?!), use a free vbulletin host.

There are other forum engines too, but a lot of them are crap.

$180 for vBulletin?! That's ridiculous.

http://www.forumer.com/ I find is the best forum avalable. 100% free, unlimited space and bandwith. They allow you to use domains and theres about 30 skins for it.

Guys, I already have IPB and PHPBB. And a domain.

Doh, just realised that IPB has portal too

So the idea is still...PLAUSIBLE!

Agreed. I've tried SMF, or Simple Machine Forum, I think. This is the worst forum I've seen! Half the things don't work (especially in the search) and there are a bunch of inconveniences. For example, if I find a thread in a search, and realize it's not what I want, I have to make another search like the first

I'll be honest with you - I would have never guessed that.

I know I'm slow, but why does every website *need* to have a forum?

Its a completely non-benheck forum with a domain and everything, and its not bigpileofgames.
