Atari reproduction Jerks, still don't have it right

Probibly because its emulating the system and games instead of being the real thing. Too bad that one guy gave up his work on the atari-on-a-chip to a company, I dont thing fans would half *** it.

Infogrames apparently waited until the last minute, and wanted the console out in a short period of time, so instead of fabricating the real technology, which would take too long, they used Famiclone technology, and had someone port all the games over to the NES-on-a-chip hardware.

Being somewhat Hybridised I wouldnt think so, but really who here is willing to fork over the $30-60 to buy on of those things and just check to see is it is. I dont think I personally could find any way to justafy buying that if it couldnt be worked into a really working Atari.

...Our current Atari only needs 3 chips and some stuff to work, right? if someone REALLY wanted to, even on this forum, they could shrink the Atari 2600's minimum size from 4" by 4" to something even less, even by doing something as simple as putting capacitors and resistors on end instead of parallel to the board.

If no one will shrink it down for us, I say that someone on these forums design one themselves.

Ive been thinking about a custom pcb. My only questions are: is there any free pcb programs that have auto route AND do you attach all the data and adress lines togeather (ex. all the "A0's")
Any answer would be appreciated.

Eagle is what I used.
It's not as simple as "connect all A0", but there is a feature much like that that I used.

My question was in the atari 2600 are all the things under each name (A0, A1, A2, etc.) connected together. Btw Ill take a look at eagle.
