I can't believe you guys get a snow day for less than a foot of snow. What is going on with this world? Come on! Is there something wrong with your city's salt and plow trucks. Shoot, I live in Chicago. We got hit with that same exact storm last night and this morning the streets are perfectly navigable. I guess we just have a great Dept of Streets and Sanitation.

We got 14" in Kansas City here... School off for Thursday and Friday! Awesome because I get my SNES parts on friday!

The district next to mine, Blue Valley, is known to call of school for 2" of snow! Isn't that messed-up?

Well Michigans different, we have bad roads (the worst in the country). On top of that around Detroit they cant get all the streets plowed in a matter of 6 hours. They also tend to close schools if there is poor visiblity. Course in April with those two fread days of snow my college campus was still open.

Woo, I'm in the 6-10 inch area. Although, I've been done with school since June and I don't work on fridays anyways, so all it's really doing is making more work for me :P. Lots of snow now does mean earlier skiing this year though :D.

Damn straight. But I live in Indiana, a little town called Churubusco(aka Turtle Town) and we got a foot of snow. And our snow plows come at 10:45 today when school would've started and hour earlier.

Of course this is going to make a huge mess of eveything, and we'll have piles of snow on the sides of parking lots until April. I wish they would truck all of that snow to the town park. Yoiu could make a kickass sledding hill out of it. 8) I actually made a small one with the snow from my driveway last year. It was about 4' high, and the entire run was more than 15 feet long. It did a U-turn about halfway through, with a pretty large bank to it. Every time you went down it you would go just about parallel to the ground. 8)

I think I'll break out the wheelbarrow and a few shovels and try to rebuild it once it stops snowing.
Im in the 3-6' band as well! I love to go sledding. It should be an olympic sport. Bobsledding doesnt cut it for me. Im out of school as well. Horrah!

And on another note, the plow truck finally came by.
