Recycling a gameboy

Hi all,

First of all, I'd like to say that I'm french so excuse me for my bad english.

I recently cleaned up my room and discover I've got an old Gameboy. I'd like to do some geek stuff :P . Does anyone knows what is possible to do with this kind of stuff ?

I though of
- Synthetiser
- Book reader (being able to save txt files into a cartridge and read it)
- Comics reader (with the same way of book reader)

Do you thing these are possible ? I can program buy some needed stuff...

If you can find an xport you can program games in java the xport is like a gameboy cuttle cart.

If your not conserned about the guts do what cennar did and put (something like) a GBA SP in the case.

Otherwise the first two things you mentioned would be really neat, having a GBO an e-book reader (in a way).

the GBOMG is a GBA SP put in an original (AKA the brick) game boy seen here

Also, Sparkfist said that your first 2 ideas would be neat, technically meaning clean or tidy, but a heavily used slang for something awesome, a good idea, you get the idea. And don't wory about your english, it's pretty good. :)

Oki, I think I'll make a GBO-IBook

Does anybody knows in which language I can program, how to compile and how to integrete it in a GBO ? :lol:

Sorry about that, I know english is just about the hardest language on Earth but I for get to use proper terms when someoen is unfamilar.

It plays movies, music AND you can read eBooks. Though that is only compatable with GBA's (GameBoy Advance).
