Super pNES!

Catch Phrase wrote:Won't you be the envy of the town when you whip it out and play with it in front of everybody!
Anyways, this is a SNESp/NESp combo (hence the somewhat misleading name :P) using a LED modded psone lcd, mini SNES, Yobo NOAC, regular SNES controller, and 6xAA rechargable batteries (2250mAh each).
Just posting this to see if anyone is interested in it. I'll be making the case this weekend (after I go see Narnia :)) using styrene and bondo. One problem so far is that the snes is having sound output problems. I'm hoping it's just a short, otherwise I'll have to get a new mini.

I'm grabing it from the A/V jack. If I can't figure it out I'll probably cut the audio traces (incase it is a short) and go straight to the chip.

Is there a reason why you chose the name 'pNES?'
Imagine bringing it to a bunch of friends, they ask "What's that?"
You say, "It's my Super pnes!"

I thought that the stereo signals off the AV adapter were mixed. I remember there being an expensive adapter you had to buy to get stereo sound... are they mixed on the old SNES?

I don't know if Luc would agree with this post being in the Trading Post.

I mainly chose the name for the joke in it. (hence the catch phrase I have in the first post) :P

But it's merely a thread asking if anyone would be interested in it :P

Well, trade or buy, but most likely buy. Looks like the build cost is in the area of ~$150 plus labour.

That's dirt cheap! Just my NESp cost that much (thanks to a dead screen...)

Hey, could you post a couple concepts of what this..um.. "thing" ( :P ) will look like?
I'm assuming you got the NES/SNES connector working then? Could you post some more info on it?

Nah, I didn't get the combo connector working yet (I have a good idea how to do it, but it's a bit complex / not worth the effort)
Beware the crappy picture! :P
