Two low-budget SNESp's in the making (need help)

Includes but not limited to: SNES, Genesis, Sega CD, PlayStation 1, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, Game Gear and I guess the Virtual Boy.

Was I right though that I hook the ground from the screen to the ground of the SNES, and then a wire from SNES ground to the negative (black?) wire on the battery?

Edit: Nevermind, here's a new one. I'm talking to Phone, and he's telling me that this is how it goes... I'm kind of confused as to why there's no wire going to the SNES ground though.
