PSone: $30
Screen: $25
Batteries : $0 (will go up to $30+ because my lappy battery is old and needs a special charger (the dead lappy it came from. You know. The one that floats
)
Case stuff: $0 (tons ofl scrap material around
)
memory card and controller: $5
eventually having a handheld that makes my friends' GBAs look like PONG? : Priceless
Grand total: $60 now, more after Christmas. (I plan to hit all the after-the-holidays sales for the batteries)
I kind of let my PSonep go to dead. Everything works, but it's just a pile of parts in a box in my closet. It's a good winter project, though.

This:

< $110.
How? Vac-forming is an amazing thing. It costs very little to make the machine, and the results are awesome. I already had tools, however.
Excluding the machine's cost of $30, The bulk of the cost was the PSOne screen ($45) and the Lithium battery and charger (Technically my dad got me the batt. for Christmas, so the charger was $30). I had the SNES and controller, and the plastic was about $15. The rest of the electronic parts were just around the garage.

If all else fails, take it apart!

my SNESportageable was about 14 for the snes 29 for the screen and then i just take AAs from people who dont have Ipods yet.
n64 i went through a pile of n64s. ok maby like 3-4 this is from my site:
the N64 board =$15.00 used
the Sony TV =$35.00 used
the case =$2.00 new
the controller =$15.00 used
able to play Mario 64 any where one month after it was realized on a handheld system =crap
im doing a new N64 right now about 12 for the n64, 29 for the screen (recycled old hipgear from an abandoned project) then 30 dollar battry and about 8 dollars on random parts like regulators and such
my DC has cost a lot and never works i took the psu from my NESgc then fryed it before i could put it to use in my DC i fryed a psone screen wile rewireing the AV port some how (i still have no clue how that thing died) its cost about 3 DCs 2 third part controllers and my patiance. I'll keep building it if i can find another PSU ither than that its dead costing me well over 400 dollars
cases for any of my portables are frankend or ribbon cases so free or 2 dollars
GOAC sega genesis. Ive gone through 4 and cant the built in games off so i give up and will save my last GOAC for a bit till i get mroe time.
NOACs (3) have been gifts my friends, who now know i'm on the look for them ever since the time i was randomly given one by a stranger.
