My mom is in the shower now so I only have a few minutes. When we argued about it, the post that I was reading that was on the screen was about portablizing, but someone's signature (not naming names) she deemed inapropriate, (no swears, bad language, or anything, not even anything vulgar) was on the screen, and that combined with the fact that I was talking to real humans, made them ban me. I will be on every wednesday night, and then a lot more when I get a psp.

Possibly, but she has the annoying habbit of walking into the room with the computer literaly every 4-5 minute to make sure Im not looking at porn, or something stupid like that, and half the time, she stares at the computer screen and says in the most anoying voice,"what are you doing?", and I have to explain myself like Ive done something wrong, and make up sonme videogame related thing, when Im really on F42, and besides, they already know what the site looks like, so theyll automatically think Im on benheck.

that annoys me so much when my parents do that, but they do it less these days, but still wont let my have the internet in my room, they gave my money to build a fast gaming machine (amd 64) for my room but wont let me have the internet up there, and since almost everything i do with the computer involves the internet it sits upstairs doing nothing, they only thing i do use it for is to run flash (because my Dell has a hissy fit about it) which i use from time to time

Ouch. That's annoying.

Download PortableFirefox and use that for going here, and leave another FF or IE window open with some other site, like Google or your email. Then when you hear her coming, quickly press Alt+Tab to switch from here to your email. Or press Windows key + D to minimize everything.

(PortableFirefox has no history trail and no cache. Sneaky!

Oh did you print off/show her a copy of the rules? If you demonstrate that we're responsible she may be a bit more lenient.

How old are you anyways? I mean if you're 16 or 17 I think you can be trusted with the computer by yourself. This computer is in my room and I always have the door closed. 14 or 15? Then you should at least be able to come to a forum.

Paranoid parents. EVERYTHING on the web is written by a real person somehow. (except for stuff like Google News.)

Did she use a computer back in the early 90s? If so then explain how a forum is a modern BBS. Anything might help...

I have a computer in my room as well, but with no internet on it, I barely ever use it, so it kind of goes to waste. BTW, I dont have cable either, because my parents think it is to innapropriate, and Im not allowed to watch, law and order, csi, cold case, ncis, almost family guy (but my dad loves it and tells my mom that its not innapropriate, so we get to watch it), american dad, war at home, Dr. Phil (not that I want to watch it, but still) and Joey.

Sounds like your parents are doing a nice job screwing you up. I know what its like, thats why im such the model citizen i am... Instead of sneaking arround and getting in trouble, why dont you respect your parents decision (or APPEAR to) and not go on the forums from home. Maybe this is a good time to learn how to pirate wifi signals. When i first got my PC my parents didnt want me looking at porn (which i didnt anyways), but that didnt stop me from doing other bad things with a computer. They were just clueless. I made deals with my friends, i got them online, and they let me use their computers for whatever and whenever i wanted.

This could be a good time to learn Linux and get a browser that lets you not load images. Since you dont have an active internet connection (or so they will think since they cant see wifi) and they wont see images, you can tell them that you are just browsing saved copies of posts that have info you need.

OR just get a browser with boss mode. (yno, you hit 2 keys and it hides it and changes the icon in the system tray to something harmless)

when you hear them coming, just hit the two keys and be playing some game online or something that they don't mind.
