. i'm using that same DC-DC convertor but there's tons of distortion and stuff. what are all the specs of the caps you're using? i think the caps might be my problem

to be honest, i only had the '64 running of of the converter for long enough to see it work. i didnt have heatsinks so i didnt want to break it. and then i went back to wall power since then - just because it eliminates a possible source of problems when im testing other things.

but i DID seem to work properly for those 5 minutes (hooked up to a tv)

the 100uF cap that i used was an electrolytic that i pulled off of an old circuit board. i belive it was rated for 25-ish volts

the 10uF cap that i used was tantalium. thats really all i know about it, i took it from container at school (whenever i say "at school" i mean "from the solar car team"). based on the markings it seems to also be rated for 25 volts

try running only the system into a tv. does it work ok then? in that case, these dc-dc converters might just not work properly for powering a portable... for some unexplanable reason. i dunno. weird.

Good job timmeh87, I'm relocating the cartridge slot on my SNES and your N64 turned out a lot nicer than mine will.
