No video?

Hi,
I have a normal NES that powers up (red LED), but I don't get any video. And I don't think its the cart slot, because that things tight as a drum. Removing carts can cause an innocent bystander some serious harm (by way of my elbow flying into them after retrieving a game). Not sure whats going on. Is there a fuse I should look for?
Any advice?

Yes and I have tried taking the Video straight off the RF modulator, but still nothing.

you mean you get no video on the psone screen right do you still or did you ever get video on a normal screen

Wierdest thing ever! I have moved the connections to the RCA jacks, and now the unit powers up, and then off. Its not a rapid thing, but it comes on for about a second then goes off. The PSone screen goes white, then off, and the power led on the NES keeps blinking at a constant rate.
I don't have the normal cables for this thats why I have tried to use a battery, and I'm using the composite line to a PSone screen I had.
Any ideas?

do u have the screen getting power from the NES

Yes I am powering both the NES, and the PSone screen with one battery. I'm powering the NES by the 5v input from a 7805 off the PSone screen. The battery attaches to the PSone screen through the original power plug.

The 7805's on the screen might not be able to give enough power for both the screen adn NES. You might try using a seperate 1 amp 7805 from radio shack and see what happens.

yeah just take power straight from the battery and put it into the nes's 7805
