Make a PS2 Pad compatible with the XBOX.

Post by guib2c »

Hi,

Did someone knows how to make that the Pad for PS2 will be compatible with the XBOX with specials features :
A = X
B = Circle
X= Square
Y = Triangle

White = L2
Black = R2
Right Trigger = R1
Left Trigger = L1

THX. Because on all the adaptator, the L1/L2 and R1/R2 are not at the good place to play at Pro Evolution Soccer 4 on XBOX with a PS2 pad

You could hack a PS2 pad and wire it to a xbox board. Maybe look for one of those "micro controller" things that are really tiny.
An xbox controller is usb with a custom plug. Some people have moded them so they can be hooked up to anything with a usb jack.
Visit www.xbox-scene.com for more info on hacking xbox stuff.
Sorry if that dosn't help.

I have a third party adapter that does exactly what you want. It works great for me. Let me see if I can find the place I bought it at...

This one is very similar to what I have:

The one I have doesn't have a big box. It's much more compact. I actually want to find where I bought it because I want to get a few more. I'll look around a bit more.

I have the last one and a friend the third and this two have the L1 at the place of the L2 and same for the R1/R2 but for PES4 XBOX you can't change the configuration of buttons L1/L2 :( :(

THX.

No, mine is none of those. Mine has no box whatsoever. It's just an XBOX plug, about a 6 inches cord, then a PSX connector. It's like an extension cord. I mean, there's gotta be some chips in the PSX connector but they don't increase the size of it any. I wish I could remember what online store I got it from but it was about a year ago. So much happens in a year, ya know?

THX.

Are you sure that the configuration of the buttons is the good one ?
Because I have ever one convertor and I don't want to buy another one if it is the same :wink:

However, on this you can't play with the micro on the Live :?

I have found this one who like to be the same with the 2 ports for memory card and micro. Do you think it is good ?

It is the "PS TO XBOX JOYPAD converter-II" and the other one that you found is call "PS TO X-BOX JOYPAD converter" on the same site.

The buttons are like you wanted in your first post, except that the black/white and L/R are reversed... L=L2, R=R2. I think they did that because L2 and R2 are analog on a Dual Shock and XBOX's L and R are analog too.

Ok THX.

PS : The L1 AND R1 are analog too on a dual shock.

Bye. So there is no convertor with the configuration I want :cry:

The origional pic was from a dated site. Here is a site that still sells them: http://www.knightdiscounts.com/videogame_xbox.htm
Hope this helps. The item is ~ 3/4 of the way down the page.

Thanks a lot. I'm not sure if mine has that anti-static knob that is closer to the XBOX side like the one on that site. I'll have to double check when I get home. Not that it matters.
