Curse the phone!

Post by loup »

Bah! I have this lovely Motorola i710 with service through Nextel for my work. It has this lovely feature where it chirps whenever it gains reception after losing it. For some reason I get somewhat poor reception on the phone in my apartment, and so on occasion it loses signal and then regains is a few minutes later. At first I liked the beeping feature, but I now curse the phone whenever I hear ANY noise coming from the thing (this comes from being a bit overworked a couple of months ago and dreading having the phone either ring or tell me I have a new text message, or have the lovely nextel walki-talki thing go off because it always ment more work) and it has been chirping every 15-20 minutes because it keeps losing signal.

A rational person would say "I'm no longer on call right now, so I can just turn it off and that would fix the problem." But I think I've demonstrated that I'm not always all that rational about such things, instead I sit here and let my hatred for the thing rise!

Curse you phone, curse you...

I would think that something like that would have a setting that lets you turn it off :?

Oh, it might my friend, it might, but my hatred for the phone is so great that I cannot bring myself to search through it's convoluted menu system (which is different from every other motorola phone I have ever used.)

[edit]

Okay, so I decided to take a quick look to see if I could find a way to disable the feature, I couldn't really find anything. The only thing that I know that works is if I put the phone in "Vibrate All" mode. If anyone knows how to disable the service beeping thing, let me know.

I hate... HATE!!! cell phones. But i love mine. Im sick of people putting 15 second gangsta rap ringtones, and walking down the block like they they are hot-crap. After 15 seconds it takes them 2 minutes to change their ringtone to the next 15 second part... People, if you want GOOD quality music, get a f-ing ipod! And cameras.. WTF! I had to beat the crap ouf of some jerk-off at the beach cause he though iw as taking pictures of his whore (she was realy UGLY!!). Meanwhile i was just holding the damn thing waiting for a call. Not to mention all these inconsiderate doushebags that talk REALLY loud and omnoxious in public.

Not to mention cell phones can easyly be tracked, and listen'd in on. I dont like that. The only reason i liek my fone (Motorolla V551) is because I got it for free, service is free, and i was able to hack the hell out of it. I never use the damn thing though. It usually sits at home in my basket of junk on my lab desk.

Foxx373... you are so right, I hate myself Gangsta Rap Ringtones, my mates ex-girlfriend likes to put rap ringtones on in the street... she kind of fell out with me when I told to buy a copulate Mp3 player, I still wonder if that's a good thing or a bad thing... for now I choose the latter.

I saw some dorky white preppy people being all gangsta on the street playing some emenim song trying to be all ghetto. I walked up to him, broke the fone in two, smaked him in the face, and pointed at the cell screaming "NO! Bad!! We dont do that!" I was gonna rub his face in it like you would to a dog when he crap on the carpet, but my friends were freaking out that I actually snapped like that.

Its a good thing i only broke it, I swore to the solder gods that if i saw someone on the street do that again, i was going to take off my sock, put their fone in it, and beat them with it...

Ive got some really REALLY nice MIDI NES themes on my V551s. Not too many people know that the zelda "secret" sound is, but you can tell when someone does by the smile on their face.

I have this PERFECT MIDI thats the end song to megaman 2, and someone actually stopped me and asked "Megaman 2?!" I was SHOCKED.

Most people dont knwo they are NES and SNES MIDIs, they think they are really nice ringtones we paid for. lol PAY, for a RINGTONE... thats not gonna happen.

I really think I once saw Foxx, were you that guy at Coney Island Beach? Anyways, my Social Studies teacher, thinks he's all gangsta, and puts a 'hand recorded copy' of 50 Cent's Just a lil bit (just put voice memo next to speaker) and made that his ringtone. He was ignorant, and his excuse was, 'I'M TRYING TO BOND WITH THE KIDS', Yeah, that and try and flirt with every one of my teachers that's under the age of 30. BTW: He's 26 himself

When I get a cell-phone I'll put a really loud and annoying beep and chirping sounds. But I'll just put the touch-tone genius sounds on my cell.
If you songstowearpantsto.com fans know what I'm talking about..."I'm going to purchase the fastest sports car. You idiot buy me a diamond ring!" makes me laugh he he

I HATE how its 2:05, right when school gets out, and the first thing I see is someone on a cell phone. Its like "WHAT THE copulate?!" The person they're talking to is probably in the frakking building! And why does someone have to talk to someone in the middle of the school day, you can't wait two hours (until 2:05) to talk to the copulate? And then, they think they're so cool, they have cellphones, so technologically inclined, yeah, I got something for you, female of the dog species, a big fat "copulate you."
