Screen help

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

Screen help

Post by JeffMan »

Alright, I recently opened my NES and thought it would be awesome if I added a small LCD screen onto it. I salvaged a small LCD screen from a busted digital camera. Problem is, I have no clue which wires the screen uses for input. There's a red wire and a white wire, but then there's a bunch of those pesky mega-thin flat tape wire thingies that are impossible to solder stuff to. Would it use the red or white wires for video, or is it somewhere in the flat tape mess? I'll try to get a pic of the screen.

Edit: Ok, here's a pic:

I'm pretty sure that's an output.

can you tell us what that port did? if it was an input, your screen will work. Those red and white cables are the power cables......idk how much voltage the screen takes....so when you test it out, be careful, shouldn't take anymore than 7.2 volts for that screen.

no problem.....sorry about the screen, may i reccomend the PSone 5 in lcd screen...they only cost $13.00 to $30.00 and are very easy to mod with RCA jacks( video/audio in ports )
