any alternatives to hip gear

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

that's a pretty good looking screen, but for the price, i'd go with hip. BTW, there's an extension for mozilla/firefox that shortens urls for you so you don't torture people with small screens :)

or even a hip gear screen :P....why don't you want to use the hip gear? they're quite excellent, you know ;).
Without games my life would have no meaning.
Well, I guess it would, but it would be a lot less fun!!!!!!!

There's also that little "URL" button when you're posting.

sorry about the url, still kinda new, and was just wondering, seems kinda hard to find the hip gear when u need it. I didnt even look at the postage for that little guy, that seems like a rip off, there should be a rule on ebay about how the price of postage should only be the price of postage and not the remaining cost of the item that u listed for so little

thanx again

It's called Shipping and Handling. Even if the guy didn't make S&H so high, he would have just made the starting bid higher. When buying off of ebay you have to consider the total cost, not just the highest bid.

Shipping always sucks on eBay; That's where they stick you.

I just discovered another reason why sellers put the item at a low price and jack the S&H up so high:

http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/fees.html

It's becuase they have to pay higher fees if the item starts at a high cost and if it ends at a high cost. They use the S&H loophole to avoid the higher fees. I'm suprised ebay allows this

Tricky!

As for screens, there aren't any I know of. Other than Pocket TV's of course, and the REALLY pricy screens ben uses.

It would be really great if we could find a new screen. The hip gear screen is ok, but it gets kinda eye straining after a while. Not really bad or anything, just kind of small for my tastes. If it was just a little bit bigger that would help a lot.

They don't allow it. But they also don't have people who go and look for violations except for a small team watching for a very few major frauds - for small stuff like this, they rely on eBay users to report them.

If they really cared all that much, they could offer a small reward for catching somebody. Like $.50-$1 or something.

'Course then people would start selling links to violations....
