I actually don't mind them. It's only once a year so what the hell. It would be nice to hear new songs sometimes though; it's usually a playlist of about 12 songs, just sung by different people.

I don't mind the songs that much, but I absolutely DESPISE parody songs in commercials. AGH! The original songs are something that's a bit more pure, sacred, something like that, and these guys are just turning it into complete crap![/rant]

I disliked how the one good radio station played christmas songs for the whole of Thanksgiving weekend. It gets progressively worse after that.

Isn't that the one that goes

"last Christmas I gave you my heart
but the very next day you gavce it away
this year to save me from tears
i'll give it to someone special"

?

I think it's Ok.

Holiday Albums I <3 include but are not limited to:
-The Burl Ives christmas album with Holly Jolly Christmas (My dad has the LP version, but we don't play it because it's the oldest one we have. Kinda rare too IIRC)
-The Carpenters' Christmas Portrait album (Karen had a great singing voice. Too bad she died from starvation in '83. Anorexia I think...)
-Merry Christmas Johnny Mathis (indispensable classic)
-Christmas Eve with Johnny Mathis (")
-Switched On Santa! (see footnote*)

Songs I </3:
-One Little Christmas Tree
-Dominick the Donkey

(*Switcherd On Santa! is a record composed of holiday classics played on a 1970s Moog synthesiser. It could only emulate one instrument at a time, and had to be re-calibrated for each instrument. The same song had to be played again and again by the keyboardist until all the instruments were done. They were then superimposed together into some great synth music. Casio this is not. :D

I mean LOOK at this thing!:
