That was interesting to read...however, why do xbox fanboys continue to compare the xbox to dreamcast??? 2 different times, different technology at the time and bill gates is a money whore. The biggest thing that gave it away that a xbox fanboy wrote it was the differences #7:

Dreamcast: Had tons of amazing games...but no Halo 3.
Xbox360: Will have Halo 3. And it will be huge.

I'm sorry but this was where the lightbulb really shined.

I must admit, those are some rather strange coincidences. Stranger still that they aren't to obscure. (Especially those logos!) I really don't think that those similarities will be a reason for the 360's downfall. I more think of them as reason's the DC should have done better.

The 360's just a big old waste of time and effort because it was rushed. Worst of all there's no excuse for it. MS could have easily made the 360 rock. They just dropped the ball. Oh well...

Look at Windows and all its updates. They always try to be one step ahead of Apple and now Linux! I mean, if you guys think the PSP is bad, wait for all the updates they will release for the 360!

I'm surprised they haven't bought everyone and made one mega-congomerate!

But what if they did?

MicroCar: Drive for 20 miles and then you have to patch the tires and replace the radiator. Drive for a mile and a half and it spontaneously combusts.

MicroPlane: Nice, roomy, comfortable flight for an hour, then the plane explodes at twenty thousand feet with no warning.

MicroOven: You burn your roast unless you install timer service pack 2.

If Microsoft made cars...



Every time they repainted the lines on the road, you'd have to buy a new car.

Occasionally your car would just die on the highway for no reason. Accept this, restart and drive on.

Occasionally, executing a maneuver would cause the car to stop and fail to restart. You'd have to re-install the engine. For some strange reason, you'd just accept this too.

You could only have one person in the car at a time, unless you bought "Car 95" or "Car NT". But then you'd have to buy more seats.

Macintosh would make a car that was powered by the sun, was twice as reliable, five times as fast, twice as easy to drive - but it would only run on five percent of the roads.

The oil, engine, gas and alternator warning lights would be replaced with a single "General Car Fault" light.

People would get excited about "new" features in Microsoft cars, forgetting completely that they had been available in other cars for years.

We'd all have to switch to Microsoft gas and auto fluids.

New seats would force everyone to have the same size butt.

The airbag system would say, "Are you sure?" before going off.

If you were involved in a crash, you would have no idea what happened.

Microsoft wouldn't build their own engines, but form a cartel with their engine suppliers. The engine would be a side-valve design so you could still use Model T Ford parts on it.

Microsoft cars would have a special radio/cassette player which would only be able to listen to Microsoft FM and play Microsoft cassettes.

Microsoft would do well, because even though they don't own any roads, all road manufacturers would give away Microsoft cars for free!

If you couldn't afford to buy a new car, you could borrow your friend's and copy it.

Whenever you bought a car, you would have to reorganize the ignition a few days until it worked.

You would need an upgrade to run cars on a highway next to each other.



Although, the one I saw said that "you'd need to press start on your car to shut it down." A week or so after I saw this, my (can't use a computer if her life depended on it) grandma called. My dad was doing some paperwork earlier that day, and he forgot to turn off the computer. I was trying to tell her what to do over the phone. One comment was "I see a start thing, but you wouldn't use that to turn it off, would you?"

There still seems to be a piece to this funky puzzle that's missing. With the passing of the NDS's and PSP's debute, this season seems to be lacking in portable fans. I say that being a rather intense one myself (hell, I'm here, ain't I?). It just seems that the DS is being ignored, even with the advent of worlwide gaming with wifi, and the PSP is stuck in a rut as well.

Does anyone care about portable gaming devices, or is it a lost art?

Well then I'll make the statement I did in the other one.

That site's comparison is mainly on marketing and well you know what, Sega dumped millions into the marketing campain in an effort to get the Dreamcast to succed. Microsoft dumped millions into the marketing campain as they want to make the same bank as Sony, and well they have the resources to just about push an Xbox/360 down everyones throat.

The Dreamcast is dead, you want a new Sega system, donate like 100 million dollars to Sega and maybe they'll consider it. But at the moment Sega is doing fine as a software company and have lost maybe even billions through hardware and so they're avoiding it.

Xbox360 doesnt impress me... well beside the impressive 3 core PPC CPU and the hi-def graphics north brige. But other then that I dont think its a terribly awsome system, but to be fair I'm not impressed with anything pass the 32/64 bit era.

Wow. I just realised, that I knew nothing at all about the dreamcast after reading this. I had no idea that it was online, and that it was after the psone. I read a wikipedia article about the dreamcast, and now Im all caught up. Those are some freaky comparisons though.
