They might seem "family friendly" now, but so did hitler towards the germans. Its all a perspective thing. Im not anti-microsoft, but i am pro-choice. I cant get linux working 100% on the majority of my new hardware because its all microsoft certified... Go watch a decent movie called Pirates of Silicon Valley. It will explain how both Apple and M$ got into the market, and how HUGE of a doushe bag Gates was.
You are right about MS taking advantage of the computer market, but I was talking about consoles. I guess if you look at them as a whole they could be percieved as very greedy. Now as far as PC stuff goes, you hit the nail on the head. They are a monopoly, not buts about it. I do like their gaming consoles though, but not to the point of fanboyism. My true gaming love is Nintendo, but I fear they have fallen too far for a rebound. I hope I am wrong though.

I think the ps3 will win I hope the revolution does good. The 360 has good graphics but there not that amazing I know its the first generation of games and they will get better but for $400 its not worth it too me. I think they should have launched the 360 with halo3 they would have sold so many 360's it wouldn't even be funny. I plan on getting the ps3 first then the rev or 360.

I was very un-amazed with 360. The games they had on demo were good, but not really better than xbox. In fact I bet they could have put the game on Xbox with some slight graphics adjustments and people would never know they were playing an old Xbox in place of a 360. Why someone would buy such a bland product is beyond me.

I think the only real thing that 360 has going for it, is it's the first out of the gate. But I really think it will tire out, and then PS3, and possibly Rev, will pass it on by.

But like I always say, success depends on the software. If 360 comes out with another "Halo", like they are expecting to do with perfect dark, they could still do pretty good. As for PS3 and Rev, I dunno what they will do. Rev will likely do more remakes and the like. PS3, no clue.

So far all I see is a slight upgrade at a very pricey cost.

As I said, Microsoft, really had an oppurtunity to up the ante on the console. They could've bought shares from other companies, but NO, they had to walk valiantly alone into a war where if you stand up too quick...you get shot.

im likin the rev right now even more,
sponge said sony had some stupid dram idea or whatever it is
the 360 is gonna be outdated when the others come out
i think the rev will only get soooo many more buyers with its popular game franchises and downloadable games from the NES up
when life gives you lemons make flux

I personally think that the 360 will do all right. I know that a lot of the games for it right now are excrement (example: Tony Hawk's American W8stland) and Call of Duty 2 is good looking but is not at all next-gen.
But I think that Gears of War for the 360 will be awesome, I feel the same with Elder Scroll's Oblivion. I know it's for the PC as well but would you like to spend about $800 to upgrade your pc or buy a relatively cheap 360?

But I'm definetly getting a Revolution and a 360. Maybe a PS3 as well if I can hold an after school job for a year or two.

that's pre-e3 2005 thoughts. since then, even before, it's been common knowledge that it's some form of dl service.

I Think that the Rev will win becouse there are allways, "out of gaming" gamers that want to play some of the games from when they were kids, im sure they would find out some how that the Revoultion can play the old games, for a very nominal download fee. The Rev will sell like hot cakes and the systems would last a loooong time

if the PS3 costs any more than $500, and the Rev. gets some kick ass launch titles (that actually utilize the controller well), then I'm pretty sure that the Rev. will win this console war easily. now, the PS3 will probably be $400, 'cause we all know they can afford to lose a bit of money on the systems (just look at the psp...no one thought it could cost less than $300, and it sold in Japan for roughly $185). also, there can't be shortages like the Xbox 360 as well.

I agree with Ben here, though, the Xbox 360 looks like it's quickly gonna die. shortages 'till feb./march? that's, like, a long time :P!!! and the fact that the graphics are only decent (and might not get better if no one makes games for the systems) can only hurt the system more....as much as I liked the xbox (some really awesome games on it ;)) it looks like the Xbox 360 might die out soon.......unless....Halo 3 comes out soon, along with a huge supply of 360s. then it'll stay on its feet for sure.
Without games my life would have no meaning.
Well, I guess it would, but it would be a lot less fun!!!!!!!

To clarify, I think the 360 will beat the Revolution, but it won't make the gains it wants on Sony.

I really think that controller is gonna hurt Nintendo. Maybe it's just me. I'm doing a full article on next gen games, should be up in a couple days.

yeah, the reason normal controllers lasted so long is because they're good
