Harry Potter in IMAX

Most movies are shot on 35mm, some 70mm. IMAX film (and camera) use film about a foot wide! Also it's a square shaped ratio (more like a TV) rather than wide like a movie.

I'd reckon they just shot Potter in 70mm and blew it up to IMAX. I think it's mostly a Warner Bros gimmck.

Now James Cameron, ass-kicking director of all time, is shooting his next movie "Battle Angel Alita" in 3D using dual cameras that shoot 4000x2000 each. That's compared to the 2000x1000 (appx) type cameras used on Star Wars 2 and 3.

So yeah, JC will need about as much storage space as the Pentagon to edit that sucker, but it will RULE!!!!! RULE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it will all depend where you sit..youll have to sit towards the back and if you have glasses take them off

Will that make it pixelated?

They are doing some great work remastering movies now, so when they digitalize it for IMAX, the quality will be preserved for the larger screen, so it shouldn't be pixelated.

thats good. Ill post after Ive seen it, to say if its worth going. Going to see the Chronicles on Narnia tomorrow. The special effects, and especially the battle scenes look spectacular.

Saw Harry Potter in Imax yesterday and it was wicked good. we got there really late, so I sat in like the forth row, but the seats were extremely comfortable, so it was okay, and I didnt have to look up that much. The resolution was spectacular, and the sound as well as the seat vibration was awesome. Most of the movie was pretty dark, but that was pretty much how the book was, so it was okay. I hated how they skipped through the good parts, like the quidditch championship, and practically all of the tri wizard tournament. Emma Watson is wicked hot, especially in Imax. The screen was much bigger than I expected, and the 3d previews were really cool. Overall I would definitly recomend seeing HP at Imax.
