It's basicly an emulation station with a media player thrown in there.

It can emulate most systems up to SNES.

Basicly if you like old games than the GP2x is for you. If you want high gfx games than get a PSP.

update, or not as far as the 2x is concerned lol, i cant upgrade the firmware with this sd ccard i have. it works BEAUTIFULY even tho, i tried it with some divx movies and it played em no problem. i have the alpha snes emulator and it works a bit slow with link to the past but no big errors and sound very nice, i fixed the mono speaker probem with a small .gpu? file upgrade, i have to say it kicks ass, i will post more pics when i am really allowed to have it lol, its an xmas present ya know. not to convince her i can have it lol

I wanted to get a GP2x and use it as a PDA, but after all the tinkering I would have to do to get it into a simple state of operation (so my g/f can use it as a PDA) i decided to just get a Pocket PC.

Triton, keep me up to date on any GP2X crap you are doing. I am really thinking about getting one. Let me know if you can get USB Wi-Fi on it with the usual linux wifi and network tools (kismet, Nmap, SAMBA, AirSnort, ect...)

Also let me kow if you find out if USB Wire'd networking, USB Keyboard/mouse... actually, PM me about this, Ive got a lot of ideas on some fun and naughty things to do with it. I dont want any of the retard-noobs getting any ideas.

the psp is a piece of CRAP. Dont just judge something by hardware performance. You have to look at how many tasks it can do and how well it can perform them. Im sure the PSP hardware revised over and over until sony comes out with a new model that has all the old issues, just like the PS2.

The PSP is part of a money hungry corperate whore, built for idiot gamers that cant think. The GP2x is designed for people with half a brain and want to use it.
