Powering the PS2 (old one)

Can it be as simple as slicing the cord, then put in RC car connectors, and power it off 7.5 Volts. Or is that too little?

yes, you can just slice the cord, but make sure you know which wires are negative and possitive. I think the ps2 needs 12v and somewhere around 2000 mah

No, you can't just slice the cord.
The PS2 has a built in PSU (The cord inputs 120V AC)
The old PS2 (post ac-dc converter) uses 12V @ ~2.2A
