There are definitely some valid reasons to wait for the Revolution - personally I'm fed up with the VG industry as a whole right now. That's why I play old video games.
So what if the Revolution's graphics aren't excessively overdone? Who cares about whether it supports HDTV or 7.1 sound?
I see the Revolution as something to break the endless cycle of crap that seems to be coming out of the industry today *cough* EA *cough*

I like the revolution it might not be a bad idea to wait for it I just read yesterday that the 360's were having problems (shutting off randomly during gameplay) and even though I am skeptical of the controller you can still use the gamecube controller. It'll be fun to play old classics once in a while when you're bored you can just spen a dollar or two and buy an old game and play it on the rev that Is what I think a lot of people will like.

I still will wait for and most likely buy the revolution (though I hate the controller, it actually looks kinda fun to have something different for a change), I dont think those reasons would have swayed me if i wasnt already set on buying it. Theres not all that much in the revolution, except for the controller that will bring new gamers in to buy it.

It sounds like that it's a heat problem. Methinks it will be fixed with a console revision (like how there are different types of mobos in each console... anyone that has used a mod chip knows what I'm talking about) in a year or so.

Heat seems to be the main problem with the 360, the thing gets so damn so they had to add a bunch of fans (even one inside the power converter) to keep it all cool, this means you have to turn up the sound on your TV to drown it out meaning no sneaking downstairs at 1am to go play your brand new 360 whyle your parrents sleep. :D

Between Sonys track record of having sucidal consoles, amd Microsofts track record of never actually beta testing ANYTHING, im gonna wait a while before i decide what i want. My friend told me that he knows a bud that waited for an X360, he pluged it in, and it fizzled. Another friend has it overheating every 5 minutes.

There was a report about how two strangers went into a smoking home and pulld a woman out. It turns out that her X360 started a fire and she passed out from the smoke. GREAT JOB MICROSOFT! What a way to start out the opening week of your console... thousands of dead systems, thoudands of non-working systems, and a near death. They allready are working on a mass recall. All i can say is a big ol' "You F-ING MORON!!" to all you retards that either pre-order'd or waiting on line for an X360. In my books, you are THE dumbest people on EARTH, except maybe the guy who proposed to his wife in times square after waiting 12 hours to buy an Xbox. You should all wear a shirt saying "Microsoft Xbox whore" so i know who to kick in the junk. [/rant]

Dont get me wrong, Ive got 2 Xs' myself, but i would NEVER get a console on its release date. Or any product for that matter... *points to all the idiot Ipod users that had the battery or audio problems cause they couldnt wait a week for it*

Don't worry, all that will be fixed with 360 Service Pack 1. :P

See that's Microsoft's "release now and make it decent later" philosophy in action. They release shoddy products faster than the competition can keep up, and then release downloadable patches for their software later on (look at all the patches released for XP in the past 4 years)

That's why I wait a while until I buy a new console. I didn't rush out to buy a PS2 the minute it came out, and I'm glad I didn't. Just give the companies time to polish up their products, then go out and buy them. Not only will they be less buggy but the prices will be lower. Plus the developers will have some time to learn how to make full use out of the hardware.

I'll still get the revolution and I'll still get the ps3...media will not influence my decision in any way. That's all I have to say about that.

The only console I've bought at launch was Gamecube. It works perfectly fine, got a DRE once(it got bumped) and the music cut out once, when it got bumped. Hell my cube was dropped and has a hole in the back, works perfectly still(though controller is a different story). So I'm not worried about buying a revolution at luanch as nintendo gets it right the first time, and they also have a great return policy, so again no worries there.

ya i've always found nintendo consoles to last and last, I mean look at a PS2, a lot of them break down within 3 years of the sale (I know mine did), but my NES is still going strong.

Nintendo says the Rev might come out after the PS3, just so they can get a better group of launch titles and to refine the system.

Yeah the might Cube as I like to call it. I once dropped it in the snow on my drive way heading to my friends house( I had my hands too full to use the handle), and when the snow melted inside the system worked perfectly. I've had my Cube for three years and counting.
