Used game stores Ripoffs?
Ok, I walked into my local Vintage Stock that has old video games. They have decent prices for everything (I got Stunt Race FX and Vortex for $3.99)
I've been wanting to get Earthbound for a long time, it was $59.99!!! I thought this was an obscure game? Of course I didn't buy it, I could have bought 2 PSone screens for that money!
Anybody else seen some far-out prices lately? I thought this was quite ironic as the Legend of Zelda 3 was only $5.

Well I did do to a yard sale once a couple years ago where they wanted full, new-price retail for a PSX, a 3DO and a "Vader" 2600, plus sales tax on everything.
My local GameStop wanted $70 for Super Mario 64 once.

I saw a panzer dragoon saga for $100 a few years ago
and a Castlevania Dracula X (saturn) for $50 which I bought
it's all about demand... $50 wasn't too much for dracula x, but $100 was way too much for panzer dragoon saga. I've always wanted to play panzer dragoon saga, too...but I've just never seen another one for sale... I almost regret not dropping the $100. from what I've read, it's a very good game.

There's a game store around here. They're pretty good, but they charge waaay too much on classic systems. A 2600 or NES will run you around $60 or $70. Same with SNES, IIRC. A Genesis or N64, however, will cost only $20

A simple mom/pop game store in my old town is insane when it comes to classic games. One thing this guy always says is that a game I ask a price for, he starts off saying "that's a great game!" O_O I caught on soon after and asked for the price of "Lester the Unlikely" on snes, sure enough, he said his line "that's a great game!" and gave me a 20 dollar price tag. I LAUGHED in his face. That game was horrible to begin with, with poor controls and terrible gameplay...20 dollars though??? Yeah...okay!!! On a side note, I can easily haggle down the prices on some things depending on the game. Example, he had Earthbound in the BIG box with the strategy guide (all which i still have today - except for the box which i sold for the same amount i bought the game for) everything I dropped from $30 (asking price) to $20. =)
