Resizing images without pixelation

Post by Mr. Cool »

Im going to make a shirt at zazzle.com, and I dont want the image on the shirt to be pixelated. The pic is the napster logo, and I couldnt find any large images of it, so I had to use a smaller one. Is there anyway to increase the size of an image, about 400%, without having it all pixelated? Also, I dont have photoshop.

Not really even the open(and free)-source counter part to Photoshop, Gimp cant do that. If the logo is simple enough just redraw it.

Ever heard of Encapsulated Post Script? Well, vector formats store intructions to make an image (line from here to there, circle right here that is this big) as opposed to raster formats where a value is stored for every pixel.

The EPS file I generated those JPGs from was only about 40kb.

Good for logos, not for photos.

I used Paint Shop Pro and rendered the file (from brandsoftheworld) to 800dpi. EPS files are like 2d game models, and most game models (take Master Chief for an example) are made up of polygons which makes it a vector format also (the textures are raster though.)
