EMERGENCY!

Post by HotDog-Cart »

Oh man, I installed Limewire, To just see what its like, Then I Uninstalled it becuase it sucked.

Now Since I Uninstalled it, It always pops up and trys to run, and Gives me error messages.and The Bug report e-mail for limewire ISNT EVEN REAL!
I had to Phone Into, Calll for Help, On this, and Thye helped me fix it, I had to delete everything with the name Limewire in it, run Spybot and Adware-away.

But Now, I Have a BIG PROBLEM!
I can't Access Task manager (Either by Using Alt CTRL Del) and Right Clicking Task bar, and selecting TAsk Manager, DOES NOTHING!
and When i press ALT CTRL Del, Nothing Happens!

I've Read LimeWires, Terms of Service, and It Does NOT mention anything, about Not being Able to use Task manager/ ALt CTRl Del, after Uninstallation.

Can Anyone help me?

PS: ( I didnt Download Anything)

Did you even run LimeWire?

Do you have a firewall or router?

Sounds like someone planted a virus on your machine. (just running LimeWire broadcasts your IP address so the other copies of the program can send file queries to you to find files. You were probably hacked.)

EDITed to correct a program misnaming. Ad-Aware is good, Limewire is a virus portal

I have Nortons, And ZoneAlarm, and Spy Bot, and Ad-ware away In perfectly safe, I E-mailed them.

I ran Limewire, But I downloaded Limewire from:
www.limewire.com

So it was the Official Site.

And I got Ad-ware from Its Official Site, and I used it after I Uninstalled and Got rid of all files name Limewire

What you need to do is go to "Run" enter msconfig, then remove LimeWire from the startup program for your system. Further did you uninstall from the registry or did you use the program's uninstall? If you use the registry the system deletes everything, so you dont have this problem... unless its like Morpheous, then do as suggested. That is you can only use the recovery/roll-back if you made a recovery point shortly before you installed LimeWire. If not, your out of luck.
