I think Lik-sang is selling the GP2x for 180, if they ever offer free shipping, I'll jump on the opportunity for 180 dolar GP2X.

20 second boot time after new release? Sounds like a pain in the arse to me. My only real complaint about it.

If i cant get linux on my Dell Axim, i might get one. I dont plan on using it for games though. I dont need games on the go. its nice to have, video, games, and MP3 though. If the thing eventually does bluetooth and wifi, im SOLD! Otherwise i will see how my adventures in Pocket PC land goes..

Does anyone know if you will be able to use a keyboard or other input device with linux and the GP2X?

I believe there was a GP32 keyboard, so I bet they'll pull the same strings with the 2X at some point or another.

the gp32 keyboard was actually a modified erikson chatboard, might work on the 2x with some more mobification, not too sure

I have a chatboard. Dont remember if it was an 'erikson' as you incorrectly spelt it. But probably.

Right now I already have the valued 'spousal fund approval' to purchase it whenever it becomes available in jan-feb as a 'present day' gift. I have my own set of issues that tend to get brushed aside a bit.

wifi--there is no reason for a system in this day and age not to have it. I did some checking and even SDIO wifi seems out of the question. nice.

sd memory--there's only one of them, correct? what is the maximum size, 2gb? will there be 4gb cards? ...I wonder if there's enough space inside to go ahead and switch it over to CF... (it looks like there is from the pictures I've seen)

usb host?--does gp2x have usb host function? This may solve the wifi problem, and introduce analog, or keyboard control...or compact flash drive...

What of this 'ext port'?

also, does the SDK come with an 'emulator', or do you have to test it on hardware? If there's an emulator/debugger, I'd like to start poking around with it pretty soon.

http://gp2x.de seems to be where the 'scene' is at, is there a bigger site that I'm just missing?

SDIO wifi it totally posible! i just needs the drivers. it will support sd and MMC cards up to 4gb with upgraded firmware that will definatly be out by january, it does not support usb host at the moment, but it might be able to with some hardware hacking, i dont really know. the ext port is for addons and for some dev stuff, it acts as a serial port with a data rate max of 115kbps gp32x is the main of the community with http://archive.gp2x.de being the place where most of the files are, such as emulators and whatnot. there IS an SDK and they have released the kernal and uboot source somewhere
