Ok So I fried my screen!!!

did i really fry my screen if the sound still works? If not then I have no clue as to why I am not getting any display. the backlight doesn't even power up. I know where I need to bypass the part. but as a n00b I dont know exactly how to jump it. Sorry if I dragged up an old thread but im desperate!!

this isn't an old thread . how you bypass it is glob some solder on a fuse to connect both ends or use a wire

you know, it's probably just the backlight.....try checking if the screen kind of darkens when you turn it on...if it does, then the LCD probably still works, it's just that you can't see anything because there's no backlight. hell, I'd be more worried if the LCD didn't turn on at all....

oh, and don't jump the fuse just yet....keep it, er, UNjumped for as long as possible, since it'll prevent your screen from frying.

I would do that, except the screen doesnt even flicker. the sound works fine, but there isnt even a hint of activity going on

yeah the backlight must be burnt out or broken or something like that its really no big deal just do the led mod and it should be fine

how can i tell if it is just the backlight? it was just working fine, and now zzzzzzip nada but sound.

its defiunitly the back light if you are still getting sound, if you really want to be sure try and backlight it with a flashlight

ok i get what u are saying but I still cant any display, sound is crytal but I still dont get how to hook a flashlight up to it

just shine a light through the back of the lcd while you have it on

its probably fine and i would reccomend doing the led mod its really not to much work
