Star Wars VS the Romans

i have noiticed certain aspects betweeen Star Wars and The Romans.

Star Wars
-----------
Near the End of Repiblic, it was spit in to parts(ep 2)
pretty much ruled all the known universe
The Empireness was voted for
When it was an Empire there was major Rebelions

Romans
---------
Near the End or reform it got spit into two parts
Ruled known world at the time
They voted for there first Emperor
Lots of Rebelions

they also had a defunct emperor, the romans had many,(most of whom were murdered, and star wars had palpatine.

Yeah, I've associated Star Wars with Rome a lot, but never really knew any others who did

If you want to be spicific about comparisons, Pallpatin would be like Ceaser. He was a (equivilent) president and when war broke out he took the role to ensure that he could stay in office so that a new offical didnt have to pick up where he left off. But Ceaser didnt give it up and ended up making Rome in to an Empire that was ruled by a family.

Now it was latter that Rome split into to about 200 A.D. I believe. I guess you can say the Empire (or the part that was at Endor) was the Western Empire cause that one fell first. Then there's whats left fighting the New Republic, so they could be construed as the Eastern Empire.

And to model it after WWII would only fit if the Empire was Nazi Germany and Hitler came to power during war. But he came to power in a time of peace and depression. However I can see the simalarities of Pallpatin and Hitler, both crazy and hell!
