Triton. Not all preorders are filled and they are having to use a Jtag cable to reflash all the 5000 (not 8000) gp2x's by hand. there are not many people workign at GPH. Also craig is the only person worldwide selling them (except korea) so he is selling them to all the other shops. also he got 200 today and is getting another 600 on monday. Expect the rest soon.

EDIT: so sorry triton you dont know half as much as me but your learning. I just cannot allow anyone to overtake my knoledge of GPH's or GP's products . :P i was talking to craig on the phone today (he hates me anyway) i used reverse charge and a australian accent aswell.

So what all, besides emulation, can you do with a GP2X?

emulation will be the big one. there will also be intrepreters and simulators

seriously though, there'll be a few homebrew games, music and movies--that's about it. But if gp2x 'does' Gameboy Advance, I'm all aboard.

it should be able to do GBA, it will be able to do: homebrew, emulators for dozens fo systems possibly as high as PSX and n64 anything in that level would work probably poorly, ported games such as doom and may older games, possibly dosbox stuff, almost any type of video up to almost 800x600 resolution, tons of audio formats including .ogg .mp3 etc up to 384? kbps, image viewing (sized over 1024x768) possibly Ebook reading. in the future SDIO might be used for such things as wifi etc. lots of things like that. i would suggest to anyone to get one lol

Cool, I know nothing about Linuix so I didn't know if it had PDA type functions. Hopefully the Zodiac prices will start to drop and I will eventually get one of those. You would figure that since the home consoles are turning into home entertainment all in one devices that they would develope a handheld system that ran Palm OS or Windows Mobile. I mean how more all in one can you get? If Nintendo came out with a System that ran Palm OS or something it would be awesome, it would also ave to look like a professional device. I just can't afford a gaming only device and don't want a productivity only device but if I could get both in one I would. :)

Lol craig told me himself hes sending them to gp32z and www.gp2x.de so lol to you. You obviously have very out dated info cos the firmware had a USB bug. Apart from that there is no other bugs. But the usb did not work properly. So they have to flash all hte gp2xs they have made (5000) so far. lol craig is liason to GPH so i think using him as a source i might know a few more facts than you triton.

ya. gp32z is not in so good communication with gph. GPH gives craig the consoles and craig distibutes them to non korean countrys. Thats why GPH's site calls him (exlusive overseas distributor). Anyhoo. Lik sang are the only other place out side korea to get them direct. except play asia but i htink they are kinda the same company :O

Anyway 3000 will be the next batch. Triton you know there will be more than 8000 made right?

well there are a few bugs. These seem to be all of them but a future update could easily fix them.

1. No cards bigger than 1 Gig yet
2. Sometimes it doesn't turn on (switch off/on again and it works)
3. Firmware uses 2*200 MHz processing power, which reduces the battery time
4. Sometimes the SD-Card isn't recognized (reinsert it and you're fine).
5. Sometimes in the firmware, the stick doesn't go left.
