Next-Gen portable.....buh-bye!
Let's check the few things that make next-gen systems, unportabalize-able
Playstation 3: This behemoth is like 10 freaking XBOX-ES. It won't happen seeing how technical it is. Even if it does happen, who would want to lug this thing around...
Revolution: Yes, if portabalized, this would be the 'super portable'. This thing uses a motion sensored gyro thing-ee. This will be hard to manipulate in a case. Then again there was Warioware twisted.
XBOX 360: This is self explanitory from it's big brother, the BIG brother!
There you have it.

I agree with darth fett, but I dont think t will happen for a while. Unless you have a steady job, and a lot of money to waste, no one is going to buy a $300-400 console and then open it up to try to portablize it. In addition, the consoles we portablize are relatively simple inside, but theres no knowing how complicated the next gens will be. Also you cant really say how big the ps3 is, because we dont know for sure, and we also dont know how much it weighs. I think NR will be first, X360, and then PS3.

the xbox 360 also is only thick because of the procesor. There is nothing else on the motherboard that is very thick.

I don't know about all of you guys, but I'm personally interested in making portable units for the whole nostalgia factor. Super Nintendo consisted of a large chunk of my grade school years, and I want to play those games again (while learning about electronics, too!) As for anything that came after N64 or Playstation, I don't have very many "cherished" memories aside from just being blown away by the capabilities of systems PS2 onwards. That's why I agree with the statement that we won't see these new systems as portables anytime soon (in addition to the whole cost factor).
