Thinking about NES Portable

I am thinking about making my Front Loader a portable. I have a Top Loader, so that's why I am thinking about doing this. I know of a place I can get a used 2" LCD for $30, so a screen would not be a problem. One big problem, I think is weight and size. How much would a stripped down NES with a Game Genie cart slot, no RF box, and hardly any grounding strips weigh?

If I were to take off the RF box, how could I get RCA (Yellow/Red) out?

Another problem would be the case. I like the way Ben's Gameboy NES case design is. I guess I could make something with a project case.

I found these neat batteries that recharge in 15 minuites, they are called IC3 by Rayovac (they are NiMH with 2000 mAh). How many AA's would it take to power the NES, and a 2" screen with a LED mod, and how long would they last?

I'm not sure about the weight but after you remove the RF box you can pull audio and video straight off the board. You will most likely need to build a video amp to get a signal with enough strength to see it on a TV screen. I could get a good enough signal for my LCD, but not a TV. Battery-wise it runs off 5 volts. And I dont feel like doing math right now so I have no clue about how long it will run.

There are directions on how to make the video amp on Tighe's site.

The completed NESp shouldnt weight more then 2 pounds (a.k.a ~1kg).

Ben got 2.5 hours out of his first NESp, as that one used a battery with 1600mA and had a 5" screen you should get more time out of yours.
