Another part adding to the "R" rating was the 'Smurf' part of course.
I love this movie, not my number one but certainly up there. I think 7 years ago so I was about 10 when I first saw it so it didn't make sense then but the next time through about 14 it immediatly changed places with the 20 dollars in my pocket for a place on my shelf.
I know a lot of people didn't like it mainly because it is so deep and full of key parts that you can't get it all in one sitting no matter how much you pay attention to it. (Chris Gore from film threat gave 2 out of 5)
But I think you guys would like a movie called Waking Life (it not on it, but deserves to be on that top 50 indy film list that sparkfist posted)
You guys might also like Six-String Samurai

a lot of people out there think that the only reason not to like something is because the viewer is unable to understand it. most are in the public school system or politics.EvilnessNMyVeins wrote: I know a lot of people didn't like it mainly because it is so deep and full of key parts that you
certainly somebody couldn't hate it for all the time it wastes developing annoying characters...such as that smurf scene... or that opening dinner scene... most of the classroom scenes... most of his girlfriend's scenes... even the pedophile subplot was mostly unnecessary and could have tightened the plot if it were cut down a bit...
I could understand somebody saying that. I give it a strong B-, myself and have it in my dvd collection, though I feel watching it again would be painful. most of the movies I'd give A's to I don't really want to see again, either.
