You'll have to beat my GBO case and bens NESp
First idea: If you put it in an altoids case with a hip gear that would be pretty darn small. You might have to use an external controller though, I doubt a D-pad would fit in next to the screen. There wouldn't be room for a speaker and amp (But a headphone jack would fit). And you would only have the built in games, a cart slot prolly wouldn't fit.
Second idea: Build it into a NES cartridge case. I actualley tried this already, and got pretty far. I stopped work on it when my screen broke. Too bad, cuz it was looking pretty good.

Yeah I saw that, pretty cool. Too bad a HG screen dosn't fit in the NES controller, that would make for one small and easy NESp.
One other idea (I may use it myself). Put the NOAC and contolls inside the hip gear screen case. There is quite a bit of empty space in there. The D-pad would go over the left speaker, and the B A buttons would go horizontal over the right speaker. Some bondo and paint, it would look pretty awesome. You could even fit a cartridge connector on the top of the case.

I won't be doing it for another month or two atleast, then I'll probably procrastinate, then blow all my money, then...yeah.
