The revolution is kind of a rip off. I like Nintendo, but they will be overcharging for the roms. They should give you an uploader so you can upload the old carts to the revolution as roms.

Because you may not have the old systems, or maybe you'd just prefer using the revolution controller to play them. It could even be as simple as only having 1 set of AV jacks on your TV, and you don't want to switch plugs when you want to play the classics.

i see your points nos(damn i almost called you luc) it is unlikely the will have a cart type gizmo but it would be a good idea

I wish it was like the Tristar 64(or whatever it was), and had a cart slot for the 3 old systems, and you could just plug it in and upload as many old games as you want. Does anybody remember if the revolution will be backwards compatible for GCN games?

that would be great, i'm sure some 3rd party company might make something to do that. anyway back to rom talk: since we can't talk about roms here, how about i let everybody talk as much about roms as they want on my forum?

This thread's fine for the time being, and Bic has a ROMs forum on his board if anybody wants information.

I'm sure that within a few months, somebody will create a mod that will allow you to use ROMs burned on CDs. That would be hard though, because I don't think the drive can read CD-Rs.

They could release all the games for each system on CDs (or DVDs) on an emulator/whatever that they design. Have all of the games dived in collections by genre (action, rpg, fighting.......) Even if they charged exorbitant prices (definitely not more exorbitent than $40 to play SNES Zelda on GBA) everyone would buy them. It seems like the most logical solution to emulation/game piracy. Simple supply and demand, there is a demand for them and currently the only supply is illegal so make a legal supply and make cash.

They are sorta doing that.It's called the classic nes series for GBA.They remade a couple of nes games(metroid,castlevania,supermario)without changing the graphics or gameplay.They're pretty fun.

While I have the Classic NES Zelda on GBA, I feel as if I got ripped. I mean, how big are those old NES games? And how much can a GBA cart hold? I think they should've atleast put the two Zelda games on one cart, if not more.

good point also, then people would just loan each other the games. Also, nintendo wouldnt be making any more money.

That pisses me off, that it's all about the money. Even if you couldn't upload as ROMs(which would prevent loan & loads), it would still be nice. Even if the thing cost $30, it would be cheaper to buy that than to buy 15 games at $3 each.

They already have a hell of a lot more money than most of the people that use their systems. Hell, I'll be lucky if I can afford a Revolution in 10 years.
