Battery Wiring

Alright, could i take 2 pairs of NiMH AA's(1.2V 2000mAh) wired in parallel, then wire the two pairs in a series and then put those in series with a series of four of the same AA's? If so, how many Amp Hours would i end up with? Here's a link to a diagram-ish thing:

Also, on a side note, might i recommend a general forum for broader questions such as this? That way potentially helpful questions wouldn't be missed by people that don't look at forums that pertain to systems they don't portablize.

Well first that is a complecated setup. I'm not going to say it wont work, but the battery diagram Gannon uses would be better.

Yeah, I'm not sure what happens when you wire different voltages in parallel. Since they are in parallel they shouldn't add up, but I'm not quite sure about that.
Anyways, If you're going to put battery packs in parallel, make sure they are the same voltage.

Sorry if my picture was a little wierd, all the batteries i'm using have the same voltages and amperages. I originally drew that picture with two sets of batteries and put the overall voltages for each set then put the blue line for my question. I'm just unsure of how Amp hours would be effected by such a wiring method.

Basically, you'll get 7.2V output, but the amperage of the output will only be 2A, it might get a little higher by around .1 or so, but not enough to make a difference.

Gannon got it. 7.2V, 2Ah. After you draw 2Ah from the batteries, the four in series are dead. No promises on what happens when you try to suck power through dead batteries.
