MKV (Matroska Video)

I have a total of like 77 video files encoded as .MKVs, and nothing to play them with. Google searches bring back either codec packs for WMP that dont work, or video players that dont support MKV. Is there a player that plays there, for windows, that doesn't need any codecs or plugins first?

Why dont you change the file to something more recogniseable.

Try vlc it plays anything I can throw at it even most incompleted downloads. http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

I would like to preserve both audio files, and I'd rather avoid the trouble of re-encoding. Would it work to re-encode to OGM, which the majority of my files are in? Is there such an encoder?

EDIT -- crap, I have VLC, last time I tried, MKV didnt work. Now it does. Okay, this can be locked.
