Great Deals From Actual Stores?

I got my Nintendo DS with Nintendogs for $135 Canadian (Around $105 US), because the DS was opened box and "had some minor scraches". Turns out it had some dead pixels, and I got it exchanged for a shiny new Blue DS

I think I did well, considering its $210 if I woulda just bought the DS new.

Open box sales are great. If you get a display item, you may be lucky enough to get one that was just put on display before they took the item down. I'm surprised you were able to exchange it though, because open box buys are usually 'all sales final'. You can get some great open box bargains at a lot of Futureshop and BestBuy stores.

I don't even want to get into open box. I got a open-box Compaq laptop from Circuit City. The drivers disc didn't work, so I just returned the heaping box of junk, and I bought a new Dell, and I have no problems.

You can usually download drivers off the internet, was that the only problem? How much was it discounted?

I hate Dell! (Sorry, but this Dell laptop sucks!)

You have to watch with open box and display sales, but they are usually fine. My friend got a $250 stereo system for $30 at Future Shop, because it was a display unit, and the thing is great! If he gets new speakers(he's using the ones that came stock with the truck), it will be awesome!

Yes, Dells suck indeed! The worst part is the fans are complete $hit. That little malfunction killed my Geforce 4 video card, and my proccessor almost got fried.

The best thing I've ever gotten was on black friday, I got a 256 MB MP3 player for $30, and my sis got a fairly nice PC for $200.

i love my dell laptop its great! im using it right now...it can run HL2 at nearly full WITHOUT LAG!!

target had my cybikos for $12 a pop back when they were on their way out. I gave about a dozen of them out for xmas--they really aren't any fun unless everybody you know has one. ...and then they're still not too much fun...

open box sales are great--especially since "all sales final" isn't really something a retailer is actually allowed to do. watch out for those blue DS units though--the current crop of piracy devices need a couple annoying extra steps to use them. You may not want to go homebrewing on it right now, but eventually you probably will want to use your DS to its fullest.

I've gone through 8 hard drives in a little under 3 years, and I've had to have the system board replaced twice. I'm also on my second battery and second power adaptor.

we have a term for people who do that here at work...I think it's best if I keep it to myself...

we are an all dell command. They have their issues, but are just another computer made in the same type mexican/chinese factory that turns the rest out. On dell laptops, watch out for overheats and short backlight life. Overheats here host us hard disks and controllers on the laptops. No real complaints about the desktops--wonderful cases. They pop right open with no tools required.

I've had my good COMPAQ Presario PC for a couple years now, and it still works like new. (That happens when it isn't on the Internet)

My no-name Internet box has been upgraded with random salvage parts so many times it's ridiculous. But I've never had any problems with my Dell QuietKey keyboard. (I've been using it for years!)

I've had a couple Dell GX1's in my time, and didn't have any problems outside of a bunch ofextra case parts inside)

That's the other thing that broke! I got up and tripped on it, but I guess I'm lucky that it broke, or my computer would've gone flying.

My mom's work has a contract deal with Dell, and the IT guys there(I know most of them) all hate the Dell computers.

I got the exact same thing. Was it a silver napster mp3 player last yer?
