i am not going to be using the laptop for anything other than parts. the mobo has too many "scorch" marks on it (nothing like the smell of burnt components!).
i plugged the screen into a similar laptop and it did work so that is a plus. the battery does charge but the computer does not power up at ...

hi all,
i have a laptop that was fried on new year's eve (the goold ol' champagne down the screen into the case trick) and a little puff of smoke came out followed by a blank screen. toast oh well nothing to be done about it.
