BUMP!!!!

I have the bottem unit to this DVD player, I went on ebay and snooped around, picked on up for 25 dollars, so if the dvd player helps it will also help in getting me a 2nd screen. I will still need to figure out how to connect this to either a S-video or DVI. The only issue i have is the resolution ...

no progress, i created a makeshift RCA to alligator clips tester trying to hit multiple wires and having no luck.... I have the same exact thing as you, i've separated the 20 wires in to 4's and will begin testing when i find my multimeter.

by-passed it, still nogo. Think the ic might be gone too. if that cap was gone, probably more gone too, can't bypass everything. screen might still be good if H could get ahold of a new controller.

You could build an IR flashlight! With superbright LED's or something! I've always wanted to try that.

Not sure how well that would work in outside situations, but inside that would work great. You would need a really intense IR LED to be outside for it to work good.

Looking at the schematic of the IC, pin 52 is composite video, like RCA. Now looking closely at the board, pin 52 is connected to one side of the crystal,

now from here i was guessing the 2 big contacts on the left of the crystal have somthing to do with the crystal as well.
