Maybe I missed something, but why replace the LCD screen's original backlight with LED's if they aren't as bright?

Ha ha ok, and I looked in LOB's thread and he did the anti-glare mod, then I looked in yours and the Playmad thread, but where's the LED mod? Also, is that just for screen brightness?

Sounds good, I'll start researching, oh by the way.. I never do see on any of the builds where they list what type of speakers they use, what do you recommend? I like decent audio, I know it's tiny crap speakers but, some sound quality would be nice though

I have actually thought about doing that, I just don't know if I have quite the knowledge of circuit theory and/or experience to do it... I don't know much about the cores of the systems yet either, but I am eager to research, which I have been doing lately.. Also, I would make an SNES before PsOne ...
