Re: $35 7" Screens that *will* work!

Well, it was a clearance thing :( I got one ordered, I don't know exactly when it went out of stock, but it couldn't have been too long. It was on the front page at slickdeals.net and that's a pretty popular site.

$35 7" Screens that *will* work!

Hi Guys,

Found this today:

http://www.walgreens.com/store/catalog/Electronics/7-inch-Portable-Digital--LCD-TV/ID=prod6001699-product" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

looks like a good hacking screen, full digital receiver even if you just want to use it for it's intended purpose ...

Re: Small CNC machine kit?

SO. Apparently I should have checked the forums before I emailed my submission. I just emailed this. I second scruffy's second. I've seen a couple on the tubes but I'd like to see Ben's take on it, and I'd like to see his instructions/parts list/finished product.

Re: Commodore C64p Laptop Project

Yes, I'm still working on this. Well, all I NEED is a case, but I'm very picky with what I want for the finished project and I'm having a hard time finding something. I'll probably end up making one out of oak. No, it's not going to be as nice as Ben's. It will, however, be much smaller, and not a ...

Re: Laptop LCD in C64p?

Do we know what kind of LCD it IS? If it's NOT a laptop screen (which I know is pretty much impossible without an extremely complicated controller board) then what is it? I'd like to start building an 8-bit computer laptop, and I'd hate to ruin it with a 6-7" screen.

Just a semi-bump. I am still working on this and having problems with cases. Assembling things, hacking them apart, soldering them back together, and making them work in a technical sense has always been easy for me. Making a concept for a case, designing, implementing, and fabricating are not my ...

Is there a voltage regulator board on there? When I hooked mine back up I found that quite a bit of voltage cleanup was done there, and my picture looked terrible without the regulator board. Also be careful hooking the connectors up to the reg board, as the polarity of the connectors is switched ...

Nice project! I have a question about these that you might have an answer to.

Is there any way to make up a cable to connect between the DTV motherboard and a PC's serial or parallel cable that will let the PC emulate a Commodore disk drive? I don't have one of those, nor any appropriate floppies ...

Where did you get that 1541-III, or like board? I'd love to get one myself, but every time I've checked no one was selling them.

It was a little expensive, but it would have cost me more in time, money, and ...

OK. Userport/Joystick port is IN, and the 5V regulator is built! Everything that is left to do is 100% cosmetic, so it's time for the part I dread, the case. Wish me luck! This is going a lot faster than I had hoped, and I hope it doesn't go to a standstill on this case!

TRAGEDY!

The PS/2 mini keyboard I had planned on using wouldn't work with the commodore DTV. I tried to see if it was a soldering problem for about 15 minutes, then got out a trusty mini-din connector and soldered it to my pigtail. When a regular ps/2 keyboard was plugged in, it worked fine. Oh ...

Thanks Tibia! That's the ribbon I was referring to, I had it apart just long enough to see what was happening behind the board, then put it back together.

Commodore C64p Laptop Project

Well, here's the beginning. I've got almost all of my parts, and I'm looking for a keyboard-style enclosure that doesn't cost $125 (yes, I've looked at all of the case sites here). I plan on putting the keyboard on the left in standard keyboard layout, and putting the screen on the right side where ...
