ok, I've remoted the power to an LCD from a 'brick', and it's pretty simple.

The switch isn't really needed, all it does is allow the 360 to run as a standalone, maybe plugged into another display. (projector, bigger tv, etc...)

You don't need the switch if you want ...

I've seen a few other mods done that have completely cut out the dvd drive. I need to do some more digging to find out how they did that. (most of them are called 'slim box' mods I believe.)

I have to say, they look sexy as hell. Might be an idea for version 2.

Good luck, it's tough to keep everything straight and even. Sanding helps a lot though.

OK, so the power thing is fixed. Long story short... it cost me some money and now it's fixed.

Just wanted to start this topic off and see if any others are interested.

I'm a first time modder, I've owned a modded xbox for about 3 years now, but a friend did the mod for me and I've only used it since then. (stupid user.)

Then I got the 'itch ...

good luck on taking out the DVD drive. There's some signals that the system needs to pass and receive from the drive before the system will boot. If you get it working without the drive, you HAVE to post it, I'd be very interested to see how that was done.
