Hmm...Just thought of this. I've heard that the 7805 (voltage regulator)was the cause of many interface-related problems. Could it be the cause of this?

Any ideas? I know this problem sounds kind of wierd, but even the slightest spark of an idea or comment could bring me to a solution.
