The only problem is the left stick (acting as the right) keeps moving down during gameplay effectively making you look at the floor during a FPS. He tried and tried to fix the problem but I think he was a bit sick of the whole project in the end . Can anyone help me with this problem ? It's ...

Right now I've got the pads on the Xbox 360 circuit board split down the middle... one for the input and the other for ground. Could I connect all the ground pads directly to the ground pin on the 9-pin joystick port, then connect each input pad to its related input pin (up to pin 1, down to pin 2 ...

It's been a while. Don't you change weapons with that? (I have it but i'm to lazy to check)

Yes, not sure how I thought "change weapons" and typed "change directions".

I don't think that a joystick would be practical for this, but it would be cool to have a way of changing weapons without ...

That's pretty sweet man, good work. Only issue I see is that it makes playing games like Gears of War impossible. Perhaps you or someone else could find another spot to put it, or perhaps use a dongle.

Xbox 360 Kempston Joystick Interface

Just thought I'd post this here in case you're interested. I added a 9-pin joystick port to a 360 controller:

Pretty simple really, it's great to use those old joysticks from the 8-bit days with Live Arcade.
