I bought a Genesis the other day, and opened it up this morning to find these wires in it. Any idea what their purpsoe is?

-FFIX Victory Fanfare- When I purchased the screens, they had a spec sheet. full pinout, Electro-Optical Cahrachteristics, Voltage ratings, and... Interface timing Ratings.

Okay, another avenue... how about the VESA Feature connector on some older GFX cards? I hear some folks have had sucess driving controllerless LCD's from that?

nm? @_@x I'm confused...Do I need to find/make a controller or not, to feed this thing a bog-standard DB15 VGA line?

-EDIT- I should have clarified...These are -OLD- displays... 640x480 Monochrome VGA screens according to the specs sheet.

I'm not so sure they're laptop displays... I copied down the pinout though...

I picked up 3 of these... They claim to be VGA and have a 16-pin connector on the ribbon cable..

If I connected the right pins, would a standard VGA connector run this, or would I need some sort of controller?

If more info is needed I can scan the spec sheet and take pictures of the screens ...

Pictured is an unmodified FB2 (thus far) that I need to shave down ever-so-slightly to fit my project case. Would it be safe to cut where I set the lines, or are there hidden traces or something inside the board? thanks in advance for any help you may be able to provide.

A self-contained Mega Drive that ALREADY runs Sonic and Knuckles, has a buit-in screen that size... It's like it's made of win!

EDIT: It will have 500% more win if you can deduce some sort of video interface to the LCD, so other consoles could be hooked up.

I got a PS2 Hip Gear recently but no Ac adaptor. I need to know what sort of power requirements it has so I can run it as part of a portable. I think someone said it has a 7808 regulator, so would it run off of a USB rail?

I've got two Xboxes with perfectly good drives. One's a botched modchip installation and has a Samsung drive, the other just gives error 16 and has a Thompson drive (I think)
