so i should pull on the slot while I'm heating it up?

well last time I tried i had desoldered a bad joint inside an NES advantage joystick and then resoldered the wire onto it, leaving both irons plugged in. So when I was done with that I went to work on my 64 and could not get that stuff to melt,

see thats what I thought, but I have held this thing on the soldered points for up to 2 minutes straight and have not seen the slightest sign of melting.

It is the radio shack 45 watt Desoldering iron.

Hey ben, how did u get the EXT port off of the motherboard? I have been trying for days to desolder that and none of it will melt.

PS. I am using the desoldering iron sold in Radio Shack.

Hey, how would I use this flux in order to help desolder the EXT port?
