I believe on the SNES, the power doesn't go straight to the 7805 regulator, so bad things happened when I tried powering it staight into the DC jack....Sadly that no longer works (Yes, I know I must have done something stupid). On a happier note, connecting the power straight to the 7805 regulator ...

You guys reassured me enough to get enough courage to try it out (I really didn't want to fry the board) and it worked great! Thanks again, and whenever this whole project is finished, I'll show some pics.

It may take a bit, because it's only a side project right now. I've been really busy with some other things.

I know it sounds odd, but I'm taking a few old systems and putting them into a new case, but I'd like them to share a power supply. I know the SNES and the Genesis two both have 7805 regulators on the motherboards, so does that mean I could safely power them with an old 250W AT PSU with the +12v ...
