it would seem to me that you want to wire your portable up to v+ and ground but ideally you should use a multimeter to find out which is giving off the 7.4v. as far as charging it, hopefully someone else can help :/

I got a bag of 100 pushbuttons for 5 bucks from that local electronics store I mentioned. I'd look locally at any nearby electronic supply stores you might find in the yellow pages. The ones you linked look good to me.

Just one resistor. Hook the resistor to the +5 volt output on the regulator. Hook all three + LED leads to the resistor's other end. Hook all three - LED leads to the ground point.

The batteries you posted are the ones I'm planning on getting. Should get a minimum of 3 hours. If you've not stumbled across it already here's a great guide to those batteries. Don't forget to get the protection circuit so they don't blow up in your face, lol.

I'm currently working with the 9000 board. Took me some time to find these somewhere on the forum so I thought I might be able to save someone else the trouble by posting them here as well.
