Re: XBOX 360 Hard Drive Failing - [URGENT]

I wouldn't be so sure you have a software problem.....I had the same situation and I had connected my hard drive connector the wrong way and ever since then it would just say unformatted. I replced the drive with another and no problems since. You might have damaged the drive somehow but it is hard ...

Re: Internal Wifi Antenna (360)

I really don't that it would make a difference considering your material. I'm moving mine to the inside as I feel like i'm always worried about snapping it off. Gonna paint it soon and will post the results.

Re: falcon vs jasper 360 laptop

Pinouts are the same. I made my laptop from a Jasper. Its really the only way to go. Heat is such a problem with 360's

Re: collinE's 360 lappy finally finished! (not sold)

Wow, thats too bad! I though people were legally binded to having to purchase if they win the auction. I wasn't aware people could get away with that. Thats ridiculous.....I think you should be able to get a little more for that anyways, It looks very well built.

So you went with the gloss black ...

Re: collinE's 360 lappy finally finished! (not sold)

You did a great job on that laptop collin, very clean. Glad you put it on ebay as well, as I was wondering what a "non-ben" laptop would go for. I'm waiting for it to get warmer outside so I can paint mine. I've already bought some Krylon paint, I bought satin and gloss and I'm just stuck on what ...

Re: screen "clicking" as it turns on

Just saw your post. Are you getting video? Is it dim?
Did you extend the wires that go to the monitors backlights?
I had this problem and it was because I extended the monitor backlights with regular wire. I did some research and apparently special wire is used for backlights (it is thin but has ...

Thanks for the comments. I hope to have it painted by end of next week. I didn't use dvi for the screen because I then wouldn't be able to have HDMI out. You can't have both. VGA is more than fine for a 17" screen anyway. It has a great picture

- 17" screen (1400 x 900)
- WIFI adapter

Xbox 360 Laptop (pics included) - Updated Nov. 19

Hey everyone,

I have been visiting these boards the last few months and decided I really wanted to do a 360 laptop after reading Ben's tutorials on engadget. This is my first ever project and I noticed that people don't recommend doing a 360 portable as their first but......oh well, I got really ...

Re: Xbox 360 Laptop Work-Blog

Ah, cool. I actually saw your update before I checked in here. Similar to what I did but I used the older heatsink with some added heatsink pieces off the front and back. I'm really interested to see how well your setup cools once your ready to stress test it. I decided against the keyboard as I ...

Love your blog. I check on it every day. I wish I was as meticulous as you, to document my progress the whole way. BTW, what do you guys plan to do for a modified cpu heatsink?

Re: MY 360 LAPTOP BUILD LOG UPDATE NOV 16

edit: I missed the part you had mentioned that you have an original cpu. I saw the newer heatsink and thought you had the 65nm part. That one runs really cool.

I like seeing someone doing this project. It's a lot of of fun. I'm almost done myself. That original cpu does get really hot so the more ...
