Spelling

Post by Kurt_ »

Has anyone noticed how kids under the age of say 12-14 can't spell a damn thing?

Well this just tops it off. This guy can draw good graphics and program an entire game in flash...but...

Could be a typo. Btw, dont be discriminatory. I could say all asians can drive, while it may be true, is inappropriate and should not be said.

With that said, I agree with you some kids need spelling lessons.

It might just be a way to mix it up a bit. Maybe he was tired of seeing "COMPLETE" in every game so he purposefully misspelled.

Or maybe it was just a silly mistake.

Look around Newgrounds. There are some amazing Flash games out there, but thay say things like

"Your a winner!"

Or an otherwise amazing game is pockmarked with AOL speak.

People need to learn how to spell and use grammar.

Or maybe their hands are tired after all the... um... you know... after going to Google Image Search with SafeSearch disabled. If you know what I mean. :P

Anyway, perhaps he was combining "complete" with "meat." That IS a chicken/turkey in the background, isn't it?

no, mast- er, um, I mean, er, yeah, emulation!!
Without games my life would have no meaning.

I like to emulate, a lot, like right after school. :D

But spelling isn't as bad as my brother trying to do math. He's 11 almost 12
example: What's 87 divided by 5?

The deal with spelling falls largely under age though flatly under maturity. For instance, I am mature enough to not have to be an "internet guy" and use leatspeak. I have experience. I know that that kind of stuff is noobish stuff. It's obnoxious and immature.

Unfortunatly, the new guys don't know that, for the most part. They come online and think "Hey, I know how this intraweb thing works, you gotta talk the talk which is outrageously different from Standard American English." And when they've been told other-wise, they're so self-conscious about it, that they become aggressive and lash out. They aren't naturally like that, but the confusion of the new setting and the aggression they recieve from "mature" members who lash out at leet-speakers.

It's a nasty set of circumstances that creates way too many problems.

Great job sock. You simply proved to me that this world will never cease to sicken me. That men cannot learn from their mistakes and I musn't count on them to strive for a better style of being. Or maybe just you...
