2hr till the next gen

well i have been using this time to relfect on the industry like the thing about the next gen games looking like current gen games on normal TVS. Also the thing about Gaming becoming More and more for Rich people, ex. look at the 360, $300-$400, the projected price of the PS3 $500+, rev $?, and the fact you need a HD TV to play the games to thier highest visual potential.

Game consoles have always been expensive, heck the 3DO was $700 back when it came out and the N64 was $300.

Hey, at least it doesnt require you to have HDTV. HDTV is really awesome though. If I had the money Id totally get it. The next gen systems are really expensive, but every other system has been expensive when it first came out. Give them time, and the prices will come down. Though I dont like the Xbox 360, I like that it is coming out, because it has gotten everyone excited about the next gen consoles, and it gives me an excuse to talk/ argue about them with my friends.

hell wasnt the neo geo AES over a grand new? the games cost 250 FREAKIN $$$!!! each ive hear the revo will be sub 300$

im definitly gonna get the rev and the lower price tag only makes me want to get it more than

Blockbuster is selling off all their current systems. You can get a pre-played GC with 2 controlers for $50 CDN ($42 USD), I'm gonna gess that the Xbox and PS2 are around the same amount or atleast $50 USD.

Took the words right out of my mouth. Gamer2, The lack of HD support will keep you from feeling pressured to buy a HDTV. Also, it sounds like you could use some innovation as it seems by looking at your post you are sick of the way things are seeming to progress. The Revolution will most likely be cheaper than the other consoles too, so the Rev. might be right up your alley.

360 is pretty cool. the games are impressive, but don't really scream next-gen... yet anyways (just like any other console at launch). I picked up mine tonight along with a few games (Kameo, PGR3, and Perfect Dark: Zero). PGR3 is pretty sweet, it's the only one I've really played so far. I'll post more in a couple days if anyone cares to read it.

I'm going to get an xbox 360 when I have about 800 bucks so that I can get 4 controllers and 4 games with a premium console.
